In a departure from their norm, Wax Eloquent’s latest release, "It’s Always Windy on the 5th Floor” is largely instrumental. On the second track, “The Meta”, Ormus invites the listener to “deprogram” from the world order over a swelling bass synth and a driving baritone sax. From there Ormus drops the mic and the Denver duo speaks through their instruments and vocal samples drawn from the likes of Shakespeare and Alan Watts . Something strange is happening on the 5th floor; there may be something in the wine at a raucous roadhouse celebration; Ormus and Greyscale 10 are reminded that time is for the birds but at the end of the day there is always time for an introspective reflection.
